I Too, Can't Shy Away From Politics

As I've already spent, like, two hours finding the picture for this post among a ton of anti-obama memes while watching Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, and Samantha Bee on YouTube it gave me the prime opportunity to think about something that I haven't thought about in a while-- politics.

(And before yinz start shouting, "dumb liberal!" at your computer screens, let me explain.)

(Also, Side note: this is going to be my one giant political post for a while because, yeah, I have a lot of pent-up angst about this, okay?!)

I (at the time of writing this) am not of voting age (cause 'MERICA!) and, honestly, I don't even think of myself as affiliated with one party or another (at least I try not to) but in most topics/ laws I usually follow three simple rules:

1.) Does this bill/law/whatever invade the privacy of, discriminate, injure, harm, decrease educational opportunities or quality of life for, cause mental or bodily harm to a particular group of individuals?

2.) If yes, then (pardon me) what the fuck? You think banning safe, professionally administered, abortions is going to make it less likely for back alleyway coat hanger abortions that could (more likely than not) kill people? Why is the government putting its nose between my legs anyways? Buzz off mate.

3.) If no, then that's cool man. I'll support it as much I can.

There. That's it. That's why I'm not pro-life nor pro-choice. I'm pro common sense. If I'm not getting the medical care I need just so someone, somewhere, can stuff a few Franklins in their pocket-- then there's something wrong. But I'm not voting age so there's very little opportunities for me to express my opinions-- which could affect politicians running for re-election. I mean, think about it! Next presidential election (I'll miss meeting voting age by three months, but that's beside the point) most of Gen-Z (yup. Depressing, isn't it? Last of the alphabet) will be voting. If you're going in blind as to what (the massive) Gen-Z wants done, then you're putting yourself at a disadvantage. (I'm just saying.)

And, to my homies in journalism, I know it's hard trying not to be biased when you write news articles and I know you're constantly under attack by the President (honestly, if you ask me, I say just ignore him) and I know that you feel beat-- but please just hang in there, especially you, NPR, cause I love you *sheds a tear*. Car Talk is my favorite.

(But I digress)

Personally, I love Obama. I thought he was an amazing president. (Couldn't you tell from the photo?) Then again, he was elected when I was in the first grade, so I don't really have anyone to compare him to (other than a Burnt Cheeto). Though, to be fair, Bush did cause the recession so I guess there wasn't much competition.

So, I guess (While I'm losing my will to live) I'm going to leave my final remark.

Thanks Obama, really, for all you've done.

Because I couldn't find a funny Obama meme.
