It just dawned on me that I had a blog and I can post stuff....
So, let me just skip my trip to D.C. (though I do plan on posting the photos I took during my brief time there) since nothing eventful happened while I was there and move onto the really exciting start of my week-long spring break (yeah, I said a week. You jelly yet bruh?). Tekko! Oh, I should probably explain. Tekko is Pittsburgh's big anime and Japanese culture convention that's held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center every April. I went on Saturday with some friends then came back Sunday to do some quick shopping and hang out. Saturday I cosplayed as Meliodas from The Seven Deadly Sins (If you haven't watched it, it's on Netflix. I highly recommend it.) and on Sunday I cosplayed as Link (NOT ZELDA!) from the Zelda games.
There were a couple of people wearing full Totoro Mascot cosplays, which were very impressive-- to say the least. (Totoro's from My Neighbor Totoro by Studio Ghibli) There was an actual Gyarados someone made out of some PVC, hot glue, a scooter, and it actually blew bubbles! I know, amazing right?! Scored myself two plushies (because, obviously, one isn't enough) and a print of Levi Ackerman from Attack on Titan as well as a Soul (from Soul Eater) Eater POP! Figure. All in all, I had a heap of fun.
And, to top it all off, I got to see my first J-Rock Concert-- Magic of Life. I even got all their autographs! (The drummer is super hot and you should check out their music if you have a chance.)
The only not fun part about the whole experience was that now, thanks to not wearing good shoes for the sake of cosplay, my are so swollen I can barely walk. That's no fun. But sacrifices must be made for the sake of great cosplay!
