In Pennsylvania, there's an event called The Art of the State that brings artists from all over to the State Museum of Pennsylvania. It is there that they give out awards based on the opinions of Jurors in the categories of Painting, Works on Paper, Photography, Craft, and Sculpture. On top of that they give out The Jump Street Spirit of the Arts Award, The William D. Davis Memorial Award for Drawing, The State Museum of Pennsylvania Purchase Award, and Art Docents' Choice Award.
Aside from all of the awards that are handed out at the awards ceremony, they also served cake, a wonderful spread of hour'durves, and they had a gallery where they showed all of the winning and non-winning art pieces.
(I only took photos of a few of them, but here you go.)
There isn't much else to say about the event (Hence, the mini-blog) except that it was pretty boring.
Then again, events like those always are.
