Mini Blog: 21 One Piece Questions

(I'm actually not posting a novel-length Mini-Blog! Hooray!)

Recently, I've been obsessed with the anime One Piece. I love everything from the plot to the characters to the lore. It's an amazing Shonen Jump series. I highly recommend watching it, even if it might seem intimidating at first.

Before I start....

There will be major spoilers for anything up to Chapter 575/Episode 485 of the manga/anime. There is a mention of a fight that occurs in the Dressrosa Arc, but I don't do anything beyond that. If you haven't read or watched up to that point, STAY AWAY! (Please, don't spoil the Marineford Arc for yourself. Really.)

Onto the Questions!

Question #1:

Who is your favorite character and why? (Additionally, who is your favorite Straw Hat?)

Favorite One Piece character (God, this is tough!) would have to be Portgas D. Ace. I just find him to be relatable as I, too, am an older sibling. I also have a relationship with a friends similar to that of Ace and Luffy. (The only part I can't relate to is being dead, as I am very much alive. *bursts into tears* Rest in Peace Ace!) My Favorite Straw Hat is Monkey D. Luffy.

Question #2:

Who is your favorite villain and why?

That's gotta be Enel (or Eneru, whichever you prefer). He was just such a well done villain....I don't even have to think about it. It's hard for me to explain why exactly.

Question #3:

What is your favorite quote or statement?

"If I get reincarnated... I wanna become a clam."

-Monkey D. Luffy

This quote, while not very inspirational, speaks to me on so many levels.... you have no idea.

Question #4:

Which is your favorite female character? (If not your fav in general?)

That's hard but I'd have to say Boa Hancock. My favorite female Straw Hat is definitely Nico Robin.

Question #5:

What is your favorite fight?

Ooh! This is a good one! I'd have to say Luffy vs. Donquixote Doflamingo at Dressrosa. God, just thinking about it give me the shivers.

Question #6:

What is your favorite episode?

My favorite episode from the, what? 800+ episodes currently out? Are you crazy?! (But seriously though, that's a crazy amount of episodes...) My favorite episode would have to be Episode 278/279 (I can't remember which one it is.) when Luffy declares war on the World Government. I was so proud of Luffy, omg.

Question #7:

What is your favorite One Piece opening?

"We Are!" hands down. No question about it. Next?

Question #8:

What is your favorite movie, special, or "Episode of"?

I have yet to watch any of the movies, but my favorite would have to be "Episode of Sabo. (Because Sabo, duh.)

Question #9:

What is your favorite Arc in One Piece?

That'd be Enies Lobby/ Water 7. (Are they two separate arcs? It's hard to tell...)

(I'm going to skip question 10 because I've never played any of the One Piece video games.)

Question #11:

If you were in the One Piece universe, who's crew would you join and why?

The Straw Hat Pirates, duh. Why? Because I want Luffy to be the Pirate King.

Question #12:

What is the saddest One Piece moment?

-_- (*Bursts into tears and violent sobs* *makes whale noises*) Ace's death.... (*cries some more*) Rest in Piece! (haha... see what I did there? Piece instead of Peace? Yeah...) AKAINU IMMA COMIN FOR YOU!

Question #13:

What is the most shocking moment?

That Ace's dad was Gol D. Roger. (*cries for Ace*)

Question #14:

What is the funniest One Piece moment and who is the funniest character?

Funniest One Piece moment is definitely when (SPOILERS FOR PUNK HAZARD! Sort-of...) Luffy asks Law if he's going to betray him (And Law with Chopper on his head... And Law saying he doesn't like bread. Really, just Law experiencing the Straw Hat Culture...) Funniest One Piece character is Roronoa Zoro. I dunno. His being directionally challenged is too funny...

Question #15:

What is your most memorable moment?

God... I dunno? There's so many.... Probably at Marienford when Whitebeard says that the One Piece exists. It was just such a profound moment, it being Whitebeard's last words and all. It was such a turning point in the story, too.

Question #16:

What is your favorite ability in One Piece?

Mythical Zoan Model: Phoenix (or whatever it's official name is. I couldn't find it on the Wiki.)

Question #17:

Do you own any One Piece merchandise? (official or not)

Hell yeah! (Manga does count, right? I mean...) Other than the first four volumes of the manga (pathetic, right? I'm working on it...) I own a Tony-Tony Chopper and a Trafalgar D. Water Law Funko POP! figures.

Question #18:

Do you prefer watching One Piece in sub or dub?

What kind of question is this? Sub, obviously. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO WATCH ONE PIECE! (If you don't know about the notoriously horrendous 4Kids One Piece dub, then you've been living under a rock.)

Question #19:

What is the one thing you love most about One Piece?

The characters and the story. There's so much detail put into almost every aspect of the series, and the short list of plot-holes (especially for a Shonen Jump series) is incredible. I love the One Piece community, too. They're awesome people.

Question #20:

What is the one thing you hate most about One Piece?

Sometimes there's pacing issues. Sometimes it'll be too fast or too slow. It's only become more of an issue for me, as an avid manga reader, in the more recent chapters. (Around Chapter 775 to most recent chapters... or somewhere around there.)

Question #21:

Is One Piece in the #1 one spot of your top ten anime? If not, what spot?

I honestly don't know. It's definitely in my top three.
