The Steel City Con Experience

(I'm failing at this X-Mas challenge I've set for myself, but I wanted to put off on a blog post until Steel City Con was over so I could give a complete account of my experience.)

I'm sure that, unless you're living under a rock, you know what ComiCon is. SteelCityCon is Pitsburgh's ComicCon.

And being the huge nerd (geek. Whatever floats your boat) that I am, I had to go.

I went on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday I cosplayed as Meliodas from the anime Seven Deadly Sins. On Sunday, I didn't feel like cosplaying, so I cosplayed as my civilian self.

I went with a group of friends and we had a great time.

But, by far, the best part was the Panel with James and Oliver Phelps.

Yeah, that's right.

The Weasley twins from the Harry Potter Movies.

(And ohmygawd are they gingers.)

(What I'm about to say might anger some people, but I assure you I love the Weasley twins and this was all in good fun.)

As soon as everyone had stopped clapping and was sitting down I, at the top of my lungs, yelled...

"Oh look! It's George and the dead one!"

(I got a load of stink eye and a few hisses, but I *thankfully* didn't get slaughtered by my fellow fandom members.)

They wanted to know, since they'd never been in Pittsburgh before, what they should do in the area.

Primantis. Go to Primantis.

Other than me almost dying of excitement during the Harry Potter panel, Steel City Con was pretty mellow. There was the usual convention-type things like spending my hard-earned cash on things that I'll probably regret buying later.

(Levi Ackerman anyone? No? Just me then...)

I had such a blast at Steel City Con! I'm totally going to attend next year (if ComicCon comes to Pittsburgh next year, that is.) and I had a lot of fun!

Until Next Time!
